What is the best way to take care of human dreadlock extensions to prevent them from falling out?

Today, I have a question here from a girl on Instagram. She asks, “What is the best way to care of human hair extensions attached with a crochet method to prevent them from becoming loose and falling out? How would I repair any extensions that become loose?”

There’s like many, many, many different ways on doing extensions with loose hair. I know a lot of people do their waft of hair and then they do the dreadlock extensions on them and it becomes like this really, really tiny bit that they are going to attach onto their own dreadlock. What will happen if you just have too little hair and pieces of hair that you attach the dreadlock on; the attachment between like the real hair and the extensions hair is too thin and too short so the extensions won’t really last that long and won’t stick. So, I highly recommend when you do dreadlock extensions and if you do it that way that you do the dreadlock the extensions first that you leave a lot of hair here on...

Why I started the dreadlock course

dreadlock course Mar 29, 2018

Today, I would like to share something with you:
For the past 17 years, I’ve been working with dreadlocks in my salon in Stockholm.
Clients from all over the world have flown in to get their hair done and I have always woken up with a smile on my face every morning and looking forward to who I’m going to meet today and to help them on their dreadlock journey.

Over the years I’ve had people contacting me saying that they want me to teach them to do dreadlocks, in a professional way like I make them, and also how to run a professional business.
But I’ve always hesitated and said no.

Would you like to know why?

The reason that I’ve said no is that deep down inside I’m an introvert, I hate standing in front of people and talk, I never ever think that someone is going to remember me when I meet them and when I was a teenager I didn’t even want to shake people’s hands just because I was afraid.
Today I...

Dreadlock updo / How to make a half fishbonebraid dreadlock updo

dreadlock updo Mar 03, 2018

This is how you can make a half fishbone braid dreadlock updo your self. Its easy, you only need your fingers and some patience! Its even a nice half updo to do when its messy!

1. Start with pulling all your dreadlocks backwards. If you want a realy nice look take some dreadlock gel to tame all your loose hair.

2. Take up some of your dreadlocks in the front part / crown of your head.

3. Take a dreadlock form the right section, pull it back and cross it over the join the left dreadlock section.

4. Take a dreadlock from the left section , pull it back and cross it over to the right dreadlock section

5. Keep on repeating these steps until you have come to the dreadlock that is infront of the ear.

6. Keep on braiding just the dreadlocks that you have in the braid, dont take up new dreads.

7. When you feel like you are happy with the length of the braid take the longest dreadlock in the braid and wrap it around the braid and tuck it underneath the wrap,...

WHEN DO YOU SUGGEST WASHING BABY DREADS FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Today, I have a question here from a girl on Instagram. She writes, “When do you suggest washing your baby dreads for the first time?”

When you start to have dreadlocks done or you maybe go to a salon or you make them yourself; it is really important for the first like few weeks that the hair can rest because a lot of tension has gone into creating your dreadlocks. So, what I highly recommend is that you, in the beginning, palm roll your dreadlocks a lot. That will the process to speed up a bit more and if you want to wait like 2 weeks, 4 weeks, it all depends on how you feel in the scalp.

A lot of people think that they get dandruff from having dreadlocks because they have to wait this process until they can wash their hair. And usually a lot of people are really used to washing their hair maybe every day. So, a good thing, if you’re thinking about getting dreadlocks done is to start to wash your hair maybe once a week, leave the conditioner out....
